Simplified model for soot generation in a combustion of abiodiesel surrogate

Resumo


he objective of this work is to model the soot generation in the combustion of turbulentjet diffusion flame of the biodiesel substitute, methyl decanoate. Fuel oxidation and soot generationwere described using a simplified kinetic mechanism based on the HACA mechanism, and theflamelet concept was applied to the temperature and mass fraction equations of the species. Twoempirical equations were used to calculate the volume fraction and soot number density, whichpresented results compatible with the literature.
