Abstract

Natural frequencies of second order linear vibrating structures are frequently computed through reduction to generalized first order eigenvalue problem. We show how even complex second-order eigenvalues can be refined using Krylov-type strategies that apply recursion, shifts and inversion, using the original system matrices. Benchmarks with test matrices are presented.
