Identification of nonlinear mechanical systems: Comparison between Harmonic Probing and Volterra-Kautz methods

Abstract

This paper proposes a comparison of the performance of two approaches for nonlinear system identification using Volterra series. The first approach uses the harmonic probing method. The second one requires only the input and output data. To illustrate the results and applicability a Duffing system is used.
